This charming public bath was built in 1928 by the Katakura family as a place for socializing during the heyday of the silk industry. It has since been designated an Important Cultural Property of Japan. The vast "Senninburo" bath, 1.1 meters deep and large enough to accommodate about 100 people, still retains the elegance of that era. Stained glass and antique decorations create a romantic atmosphere, making it a popular spot for both locals and tourists.
